One of my favorite things is visiting people who cannot attend worship in person. There is something holy about spending quality 1:1 time, talking about life, praying, and even taking communion. While I get to do this all the time, our very own Parish Administrator, Amy Bifano, has recently started visiting some dear people in our congregation. Amy is also an excellent baker, so when she visits, cookies are involved. Our members probably are more happy to see her coming than me because of this fact!
Anyone can visit someone who is homebound. It's easy. You don't need to know what to say. Just inquire about how they are doing. Listen. Ask questions. The general rule is to listen more than you speak. If you do these things, everything will be just fine. People love to be remembered. People need our love.
Thanks, Amy and others who wish to remain anonymous!
