Through the generous contribution of $300 from the Semken fund, St. Johannes Lutheran Church aims to extend a helping hand to three individuals identified by Next Steps of South Carolina during their visit to The Navigation Center.

The church's commitment to serving the community is reflected in its decision to allocate $100 each towards assisting these individuals in collaboration with Next Steps:

  1. A Single Father in Need: Despite being a victim of deception, this resilient single father is deeply dedicated to providing his children with a safe and nurturing environment. With a steady job, he seeks assistance securing a new apartment, showcasing his unwavering commitment to his family.

  2. A Woman on the Path to Recovery: Embarking on a journey towards rehabilitation, this courageous woman, a resident of the Oxford House, is striving to rebuild her life after battling substance abuse. With a job secured, she requires support to cover the initial rent, symbolizing her determination to embrace a brighter future.

  3. A Senior in Distress: Octavia, a 73-year-old woman, finds herself in a precarious situation as she struggles to manage her winter electric bill. Despite her discomfort in seeking help, her sincerity and resilience shine through as she navigates challenges. St. Johannes Lutheran Church is moved by her strength and resilience, pledging $100 from the Oswald fund to alleviate her financial burden and ensure her continued comfort and security.

In expressing the church's commitment to serving those in need, Pastor Aaron DeBenedetto emphasizes, "Our partnership with the Navigation Center is a testament to God's boundless love and compassion.
