Free Laundry for Residents at Local Laundromat

For the second half of May 2023, the residents at downtown Ansonborough House needed access to laundry facilities due to building updates. St. Johannes stepped up. In partnership with Ansonborough House, St. Johannes paid for residents to wash and dry their laundry for free. Ansonborough House provided free rides for the 8-block walk.

In addition, members of St. Johannes were at the laundromat to meet the residents and provide lunch and snacks. 

"They thought of everything, down to a Christian message on the paper plates! I feel so blessed by y'all!" - Resident 1

It was refreshing to see people come together around a common goal in a neighborhood where people with different skin colors usually don't mix.

In life, service doesn't have to be shiny and big. Look for a hiccup in someone's routine where they could use a little help to make it through. On this occasion, washing clothes led to refreshing everyone's spirit.
